School Academic Advisers

Who are they?

Roehampton's School Academic Advisers (SAAs) are a local source of authoritative advice and guidance for students on matters relating to Academic Regulations. They also provide assessment and support concerning the University's Credit Transfer and Accumulation Scheme (CATS) and advise students on the suitability of Study Abroad modules and options.

What do SAAs do?

Staff:

In what circumstances should a member of staff need to refer students to a SAA?

  • If there is a particularly difficult regulation problem or issue
  • If the student needs advice on CATS credits
  • If the student needs to have their overseas study form signed

Students:

In what circumstances should a student go directly to a SAA?

  • A student will normally go to see their SAA following referral from their Programme Convener (PDF) or Assistant Programme Convener for one of the above reasons. However in certain circumstances a student could take the initiative and go directly to their SAA if the issue was pressing, or if the Programme Convener or Assistant Programme Convener were unavailable.
  • Although the SAAs deal with students from particular Schools, if you are unable to contact your own SAA in the first instance, please feel free to contact any of the others.
