Living on campus

Hall Wardens

Hall Wardens are appointed by the University to work with Security Officers in supporting students who:

  • feel at serious risk and therefore in need of urgent assistance and/or support
  • are perceived by other students be in need of urgent assistance and/or support.

Hall Wardens offer pastoral support to students: For example, they may accompany a student to hospital if necessary, or refer a student to a range of University services that include the Health and Wellbeing Advisor.

We currently have four Hall Wardens who are resident in each of the Colleges.

Contacting a Hall Warden

Hall Wardens operate in the evening and overnight from 6pm until 8am during term time. To contact a Hall Warden call the University’s emergency number:

  •  from an internal phone extension: 3333
  •  from an external or mobile phone:  020 8392 3333

Initially you will be put through to a Security Officer who will contact the relevant Hall Warden for you.
