Services outside of core hours

The IT Helpdesk‘s mission is to provide an excellent customer service including replying to requests for information and restoring the use of IT services to operational productivity when that has been impeded.

We have a fully staffed IT Helpdesk which operates during core hours:

  • Term Time
    • 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday
  • Vacation Time
    • 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday

We also offer a reduced service to Students and Staff outside of these hours by employing IT Helpdesk Advisors:

  • Term Time:
    • 6pm-9pm Monday to Friday
    • 11am-6pm at Weekends
  • Vacation Time:
    • 5pm-7pm Monday to Friday
    • 11am-6pm Saturdays only

During reduced service hours we are able to offer assistance in the following:

  • Dealing with network accounts queries and unlocking or resetting password.
  • Logging IT requests for the staff to action during core hours and providing progress reports on existing requests.
  • Assistance with the Open access PC’s, Printing and Copying.
  • The issue and discharge of Loan Laptops and SPSS CDs.
  • Providing trouble shooting advice on software, hardware and the printing system within the computer suites.
  • Assisting with Customer Service queries.
  • Providing IT advice to our customers where possible.

Our evening and weekend staff are not able to assist in the resolution of hardware or software faults other than to offer best advice if this necessitates leaving the IT Helpdesk area
