Our role
Academic Liaison Librarians are here to support the information needs of staff and students for teaching, learning and research.
We do this by:
- Working with academic colleagues to ensure that programmes are appropriately supported by Library and Learning Services.
- Maintaining and developing the Library's collection of books, journals, audio-visual and electronic material, and specialist collections such as the Froebel Archive, School Experience Library and the Children's Literature collection.
- Teaching students and staff how to use Library collections independently, particularly electronic information resources, through information literacy training sessions and one-to-one tuition.
- Enabling specific groups of users such as part-time and distance learners, researchers and students with disabilities to use our resources.
