About the nursery

The Nursery will finally close on Friday 27 August 2010.

Alternative childcare arrangements

Nurseries

As the on-site nursery will close in August 2010, parents looking for childcare after that date are advised to check the following borough council websites for lists of nurseries near the University:

The nearest nursery to the University campus is Eastwood Day Nursery and Creche on Roehampton Lane, which has links with projects such as Forest School.

We are not able to guarantee a place at any local nursery nor are we able to offer advice about placements and their suitability, but if you would still like to speak to someone at the University then contact the Deputy Director of Student Services on 020 8392 3302.

We may be able to offer a subsidy for the cost of your child(ren)’s care while you are studying here, and although this will be dependent upon individual personal financial situations and availability, this might be negotiated via the Deputy Director of Student Services in the first instance.

Childminding services

Check the following borough council websites for lists of childminders in the area:

The University cannot take any responsibility for the reputation and quality of these services.

Undergraduate students who are studying to be teachers here at the University often seek work with children to supplement  the cost of their studies . They are all CRB-checked and sometimes advertise for work on the StudentZone website or around Froebel College.

Flexible care

We offer flexible care according to the needs of parents. This means you can choose to book various morning or afternoon sessions throughout the week, with a minimum booking of three sessions, in the interest of your child’s comfort and routine. You will receive a contract that outlines your service agreement with the nursery and that will be renewed in August of each year. From September 2009, Roehampton University students will receive a 37-week contract that
spans 21 September 2009 through to 4 June 2010.
