Parking and Traffic

PARKING RESTRICTIONS APPLY AT ALL TIMES

  • The University does not accept responsibility for any damage or theft from any vehicle whilst parked on campus.
  • All vehicles must be taxed and insured.

Demand for car parking at the University often outweighs supply. We therefore request all potential parking permit applicants to explore alternative travel options before making an application for a parking permit.

Please note: The main gates at Digby Stuart and Southlands are closed at 23.00hrs to all traffic and will only open for the Emergency Services.

The Froebel gates are on a time lock and will close as follows:

Contractor Parking

It is the responsibility of the member of staff leading the project to make the necessary arrangements with Paul Markham-James for the issue of a permit. This should be arranged at the pre-contract meeting  by project managers and limited to a maximum of two parking permits.

Enforcement

Any vehicle parked on the Roehampton University estate in breach of the Security Policy will be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN)

The PCN is issued through an external agency.

If the PCN is not paid within 14 days, the cost will increase.

The PCN will be sent to the registered keeper of the vehicle whose details will be obtained from the DVLA by the Parking Enforcement Agency.

Reasons for a PCN to be issued

Cycle Parking

Anyone leaving a bicycle on University premises should be aware of the importance of having a robust lock and knowing how to use it effectively and would recommend you have it insured.

Cycle Registration form

Cycles not registered and kept locked in one location for more than a two week period without prior notice to Security will be removed. This will occur after a notice period of not less than seven days on the cycle itself informing the owner of Security's intention to remove it.

Motorcycle Parking

Anyone leaving a motorcycle or scooter on University premises must ensure it is securely locked.
